Science Experiment Sunday

We've been talking a lot about colors over the weekend and today decided to do our first experiment. It was AWESOME!!! Catch a Rainbow was my inspiration. We followed it step by step.

Our supplies- food coloring, dish soap, milk, and a bowl! Simple!

After pouring the milk into the bowl, you put a few drops of the primary colors in the bowl and a few drops of dish detergent in the middle.

The dish detergent doesn't mix with the milk, instead it goes on top of the milk and pulls the colors together.

With a little "help" from me the colors really blended together forming the secondary colors. How awesome is that?!

To re-enforce the lesson, the girls had a coloring sheet. Just for fun AJ decided she'd test the theory... so she colored first with yellow, and then with blue, and yep, it turned GREEN!

This looks like a fun experiment. We just talked about the color wheel in our art lessons a couple of weeks ago.

P.S. I've been meaning to ask you how to post multiple pictures in one blog like this...
