I've heard it said that there should be a manual for raising children. I was always under the impression that there was one, The Bible. I think all too often Christians tend to forget why they are here on Earth. We weren't created to make ourselves happy, to be involved in every extra activity, or to be so busy that we lose sight of true values. The only reason we are here on Earth is to serve Him. When you are focused on that, the rest of your life falls into line. Raising our children is just one way that we can serve Him. As Christian parents it is our duty to teach them about God, to set an example of how to honor Him, to show our children how to be His hands and feet.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10

Our manual for life- INCLUDING child-raising- is the Bible. It isn't one specific chapter or verse, but the whole thing. Why? Because the whole thing points to Christ. The verse in Galatians tells us to do good to all. There are verses in 1 Corinthians that defines love. There are verses that tell us to go into all the world to tell others about HIM.

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are
noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever
things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is
any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these
Philipppians 4:8

Trying to decide if your child can read or watch something in particular? What about if its okay to wear a certain outfit or go to a certain place? Wondering about the people that surround your child? Check the verse from Philippians. Yep, the Bible has all the bases covered.

The Summary
Raising a child is never easy. Homeschool is never easy. Set your focus on Christ and His command and you will at least know that you are doing the right thing. You will face opposition. The world will try to knock you down.
